In response to both the news report from New York relating to Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) cases and allegations from a Member of Congress about fraud, today, over 80 legal aid and public interest organizations, including APBCo, sent the attached letter to Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson expressing strong support for SIJS and arguing that “[w]e must not punish vulnerable children based on the wrongdoings of a few bad actors.”
