On behalf of the Board of APBCo, we are looking forward to getting together and seeing all of you at our next APBCo meeting. At that time we hope to release the second edition of our APBCo Community Newsletter.
As you know, we want to focus the newsletter more on our community rather than strictly on our work, the list-serv and meetings being our main business-communication arteries. While we aim to distribute the newsletter electronically, our plan is to hand-out hard copies at the next meeting. And if you would like to volunteer to help put together this edition, please contact let us know.
With that in mind, please forward to us any stories or announcements you would like to have included in the newsletter. We are looking for things like:
* Comings and goings — who is leaving which firm, who is joining which firm, who is new to APBCo, to whom do we have to say “good-bye”?
* New Projects — what new projects are out there, who is launching what, who is contemplating launching what?
* Media — anyone written/published any interesting articles about our community, anyone want to post an interesting article, anyone have an idea for an interesting article??
* Professional Announcements — who is celebrating an important professional anniversary, who got what award for doing what good work, who is looking to hire someone into a pro bono professional position, has your firm come out with a new or changed policy or procedure you would like us to know about, job openings, job closings, who has been internally promoted (to partner, to counsel, to manager, etc.)
* Case Successes — sharing victories, innovative approaches to issues, exciting new matters, great new fights for justice
* Personal Announcements — anything you want your friends to know about such as births, marriages, passings, moving to a new office or city, and how happy are you that your local teams are in the Super Bowl, the Final Four, or the proverbial toilet.
* Gossip — who is sleeping with whom, who wants to sleep with whom, who understands the rules of grammar and can use “who” and “whom” correctly, who can name the current APBCo officers, what kinds of favors did they promise and/or perform to be so anointed, and who is most likely to ditch PBI and attend the last baseball pre-season games of the year?
* Good and Welfare — whatever else you might want to announce, pontificate about, make us aware of, scold us about, inspire us to act on, etc.
