The Pedagogical Institute of Los Angeles (PILA) is a small California-based nonprofit that works to provide access to early childhood education to all. They are looking for help with their Nest projects, which offer early childhood play spaces to children whose families are seeking asylum in the US or are otherwise in particularly vulnerable situations. Specifically, they recently opened a Tijuana location (across the street from a shelter at the border), in addition to locations in Greece (within walking distance of major refugee camps) and Congo (located at the Congo Peace School and serving families affected by war). They need assistance with drafting a liability waiver and release for volunteers working at Nest locations, as well as a nonprofit governance review. We don’t have CA offices, so we’re not a good fit, but if you are interested in helping this amazing organization, please let me know and I’ll connect you!
